GEORGIAN SOLID GOLD PROPELLING MECHANICAL PENCIL JOSEPH WILLMORE C1830 -1840

A gold ( tested not marked 15ct or above) propelling pencil. A gold ( tested not marked 15ct or above) propelling pencil. It is marked Willmore. This design was produced around 1830 or 40. It is in good condition and has a cut seal in the form of a bird bath with two birds. The nib is marked M ( this usually stands for Morden- though I am not that familiar with such early pens. The nib also has a score on one side. Possibly intentional. I have examined the inside of the nib and no light is visible so it does not seem to be a split. In good working order. The 1mm lead size I have is slightly too small and 1.15 is too large. Size 3.75 inch. Weight 7 gms
